Subject: Farout
There is defiantly something fishy going on here. Country Joe is outasight man wow Berry Melton makes this show too farout and groovy! I really dig the Acid Commercial, man and Bass Strings is heavy, like wow man, its a groovy vibe. So turn down the lights, light a candle, some incense and what ever else that you want and sit back and enjoy this rare gem.

Good stuff. The sound leaves something to be desired, obviously. But hey, its hard to find this artist in a record store anymore these days, and songs like "kiss my ass" and "sexist pig" are tunes i love and havnt heard in years. I hope more shows from this guy get posted.
p.s.; would LOVE to see a show that has "An Untitled Protest" (an amazing song) in the set.
Can anyone tell me how to post a show? I got a sweet CJ show from 1969 i'm sure people will love. Not sure if its complete, but the sound is perfect;)

Subject: Fun show
This is a keeper. Excellent performance. Sound quality is less than fair, approaching poor -- limited dynamic range, frequent distortion -- but the show is so good, that doesn't matter much.

Subject: Still Good Music
An excellent show that the recordist has taken painstaking efforts to reproduce as well as can be expected. A rare treat for fans and nostalgia freaks, as most of the live material unfortunately now is in collector's hands. Country Joe, with or without the Fish or Fishes, were at their best as a live act, not studio material. Would be a great public service to see some of the '68 bootlegs posted here--they are now part of history.

Subject: Echoey...yes, but worth the download.
There is an echo on the rtecording but its still a piece of history and a good show. The cuts during songs are a bummer too, but I'm glad I downloaded it.

Notes

Recorded by Dan McDonald with a Sony ECM-22 microphone and a mono panasonic casette recorder (model # forgotten).

There are some cuts in the tape where various things happened, but most of the show is here. Transferred to Wav at 24-bit, 96 kHz, converted to 16-bit, 44.1 hKz using Diamond Cut Live/Five. Minor editing to smoothe out the rough spots. There are a couple of cuts in some of the songs, and it's pretty echoey, but I suppose it's not bad for an audience tape from inside a Jai-Alai Fronton in '74. I believe this was billed as "Country Joe with Special Guest Barry Melton."
